Chuanne Blofield is a South African filmmaker working in the feature film and short content realms. He received his B.A. Motion Picture degree in 2012 at AFDA film university in Johannesburg.
Chuanne honed his craft shooting short films and creating content for local broadcasters Kyknet, VUZU and Mzansi, working on multiple productions spanning series and commercials. Chuanne continued developing his skills and expanded his boundaries working on international documentaries for National Geographic and the Namibian Tourism Board.
In 2016, Chuanne received the highest national accolade in his field for his photography on the film, “Necktie Youth”, when he was awarded the Golden Horn for “ Best Achievement in Feature Film Cinematography” at the annual South African Film and Television Awards, cementing his place as the most prominent young cinematographer working in the South African Film and Television industry. His work has been described as a classical portrait, sombre, lonely, hyper-realistic yet hyper-romantic with a sad and depressing city as a backdrop by The Hollywood Reporter, Variety and Indiewire.
